Log Periodic Dipole
Defence communication rarely stays on one frequency. Operators need to move between bands, work with different radio sets and keep a link up when conditions change. A log periodic dipole antenna supports this with directional gain across a very wide band, from VHF through UHF and into the microwave range.
STAR Antenna has been building RF antennas since 1990 and supplies defence and government organisations. We design custom in-band and out-of-band versions to match your radio equipment and your operational requirements.
What defence users need from an antenna
- Frequency flexibility: one antenna that works across the bands your radios use, from 15 MHz to 7.2 GHz across the range
- Directional gain: 7 dBi to 20+ dBi to extend range and reduce interference from other directions
- Durability in the field: stainless steel screws, nuts and bolts for outdoor and exposed sites
- Custom engineering: versions built to your frequency plan, gain, mounting and environmental requirements
- Documentation: datasheets and gain and radiation pattern test results on request
Defence and military applications
- Tactical and field communication: directional links between fixed and temporary sites, with a portable mast where needed (see our 10 m and 15 m portable crank-up masts)
- Base station and command post links: wideband directional antennas for VHF and UHF communication
- Signal reception and monitoring: receiving across a wide band without changing antennas
- Communication test and range work: a wideband directional reference antenna
- Telemetry and data links: links that may need to change frequency
If a particular use is not listed, send us the requirement and we will advise.

FAQs
Can you supply a custom frequency range for defence use?
Yes. Custom in-band and out-of-band versions are available on request.
Do you test gain and radiation pattern?
Yes. We test gain and radiation pattern, for example on our parabolic antennas, and can share results on request for this model.
Do you supply to organisations outside India?
Yes. We supply worldwide and support OEM, ODM and international partners.
